Five of the nine finalists are electric vehicles.
As every year, the finalists for the 2024 North American Car, Truck and Utility of the Year (NACTOY) awards were announced at the Los Angeles Auto Show, which, as the name suggests, are divided into three categories: Car, Truck and SUV. .
Thus, NACTOY nominated the Honda Accord, Hyundai IONIQ 6 and Toyota Prius/Prius Prime for Car of the Year; the Chevrolet Colorado, Chevrolet Silverado EV and Ford Super Duty for Truck of the Year; Meanwhile, the Genesis Electrified GV70, Kia EV9 and Volvo EX30 qualified for the final SUV series of the year.

Five of the nine finalists are fully electric and two others with some degree of electrification, which is a clear testament to the importance they are taking on the automotive scene.
“Electrified vehicles once again represent more than half of our finalists,” said NACTOY President Jeff Gilbert. “This shows how important they are to automakers and how many additional options car buyers now have.”
These nine finalists were selected from 52 eligible vehicles. Winners will be announced in January in Detroit.
