Scania launches its new generation of buses in Chile

These buses are available for the urban and long-distance transportation segments and stand out for their durability, safety and cost-effectiveness.

Scania Chile presents the new generation of buses intended for urban journeys and medium and long distance journeys. This new K Series chassis has been developed to prioritize energy efficiency, alternative fuels and smart, safe transportation.

These new buses will have different configurations, introducing the XPI range of engines, which generate fuel savings of up to 8%. On the other hand, it reduces emissions of polluting gases, which guarantees a reduction in operating costs.

“Scania offers its customers comprehensive solutions for more sustainable transportation, and this launch is a new step that we are taking towards this goal,” said Ignacio Urcelay, Managing Director of Scania Chile, and in addition, “we offer solutions comprehensive services for our customers, consisting of innovative and effective products and financial services to guarantee accessibility; high quality repair and maintenance services; driver and transporter training, and fleet management systems using connected vehicles.

This new range offers the possibility of using alternative fuels, such as gas and biogas, which increases energy efficiency and profitability. It also incorporates “flexible maintenance” which consists of the possibility of developing maintenance plans adapted to the operation of each customer, based on the data provided by the connectivity of the units. This increases fleet availability and reduces unplanned downtime.

One of the most notable elements is the introduction of active safety systems, called ADAS, which consist of a series of devices capable of detecting collision risks or danger factors.

In this way, this new generation achieves a high degree of technological innovation in its components compared to the previous series.
