The Japanese brand presented at the Kenshiki forum in Brussels, a prototype of an electric urban SUV which is part of its electric vehicle strategy for the Old Continent.
Toyota is advancing its future electric vehicle strategy for Europe with the presentation of the new 100% electric urban SUV prototype, a model that will directly compete with the B SUV segment and for the moment it is called “urban SUV”.
Recall that Toyota has planned an ambitious plan on the Old Continent, which includes six models by 2026 and it would be the first to be launched since it has an estimated date in 2024.
This prototype has the presence of a true SUV, with a compact body set on a firm base and a raised driving position. Space is maximized in a flexible interior that can be easily adapted to prioritize passengers or cargo, as appropriate.
There will be two versions available, one with front wheel drive and the other all-wheel drive, the latter of which will represent a key part of the Toyota product DNA. Additionally, the production model will feature a dual battery strategy: customers will be able to choose between two battery options, with different capacities, depending on their needs and whether they prefer it to be more affordable or have more autonomy.
In this way, Toyota plans for its future to achieve carbon neutrality through the practical introduction of a series of products with advanced engine technologies, with alternative fuels and without emissions.
Among the specifications provided by the brand, this model will reach 4.3 meters in length, 1.82 meters in width and 1.62 meters in height.
More details on the production model will be announced throughout 2024.
