Renault Brazil announced an investment of 2 billion reais (approximately 400 million US dollars) in the Ayrton Senna complex, in Paraná, which aims to produce an all-new C-segment SUV. This model will be based on the new platform modular from the Renault group, the same as that used by the Kardian.
“We continue the implementation of the International Game Plan 2027, after the presentation of the Renault Kardian, we are pleased to announce a second product of a higher segment, manufactured in Brazil and which will be exported throughout Latin America” , explains Luiz Fernando Pedrucci. , CEO of Renault in Latin America.
“This new investment in our factory in Brazil represents a total of R$5.1 billion from 2021, which is a clear demonstration of our commitment to Brazil,” underlines Ricardo Gondo, president of Renault Brazil.
The brand reports that for this investment round, the conditions granted by the State of Paraná and the collective agreement in force with the Union of Metallurgical Workers of the Metropolitan Region of Curitiba (SMC), which represents Renault employees in Brazil .
The new vehicle will use an engine produced at the Ayrton Senna complex by Horse, a company dedicated to the development, production and supply of the next generation of low-emission hybrid propulsion systems, as announced last week, with a significant investment .
