At around 8.15am on Tuesday, a woman (29) from the Völkermarkt district drove her car from the Feistritz ob Bleiburg district to St. Petersburg. Michael ob drove towards Bleiburg. There were also children aged two and five in the vehicle. The woman may have lost control of the car due to slippery road conditions. While trying to change the direction of the vehicle, the woman swerved and the car came to rest on the roof of the stream bed on the side of the road.

The driver managed to independently free himself and his two children from the vehicle and get out of the stream bed. She and her two children were rescued and taken to the Klagenfurt Clinic for medical evaluation of possible injuries. The alcohol test was negative.

The vehicle was rescued by a tow truck. FF Feistritz ob Bleiburg was deployed with ten men.
