Furiosa, the prequel to Mad Max, already has a trailer and is a spectacle of action and gasoline

Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth star in this new installment of the Mad Max universe which will be released in 2024.

The upcoming prequel to the acclaimed “Mad Max” saga, titled “Furiosa,” stars Anya Taylor-Joy in the title role, originated by Charlize Theron in the 2015 film. Golden Globe winner for “The Queen’s Gambit,” Taylor-Joy wins the challenging role in this new opus directed by George Miller. The plot takes place years before the events of “Mad Max: Fury Road”, focusing on the origin story of a young Furiosa. In this intense tale, Furiosa is kidnapped by a biker gang led by Dementus, played by Chris Hemsworth, forcing her to fight for survival and return home.

Production and Promotion Details: Production of “Furiosa” began in Australia with an estimated budget of $168 million, following the box office success of “Mad Max: Fury Road,” which grossed approximately $380 million dollars and won six Oscars. Anticipation for the film increased with the unveiling of the first promotional image of Taylor-Joy as Furiosa at the Comic Con Experience (CCXP) in Brazil, followed by the release of the official Warner Bros. trailer.

The film “Furiosa” immerses the viewer in the character’s youth in a post-apocalyptic world, with the participation of Alyla Browne and Tom Burke. The official synopsis describes how young Furiosa is snatched from the Green Place of Many Mothers and falls into the hands of the great Biker Horde led by Dementus.
