World tour instead of tours: musicians Johannes Erding wants to go on an almost year-long trip around the world during the announced break from touring.

“I’ll be on the road from February. I’ll probably be back for the European Football Championship, watch a few games and then it will continue and I won’t be back until Christmas,” Erding, originally from Munster, told the German press agency. Where should it go? “You could say everywhere. One day the big dream is to take everything with you.”

Johannes Erding: separation from Ina Müller after more than ten years

A break from the concert was definitely necessary, said the 42-year-old man, due to a breakup with the TV presenter Ina Müller (58) went public last May after more than a decade of dating. “I’ve been on the road for 18 years, doing 80 to 100 shows every year,” Erding said. “I never had time to really think it through. Then I thought to myself, ‘If this is it, it’s now.’

There were clear signs of this: “If at the last concerts you think about what you will have to buy tomorrow during the concert, this is not a good sign. It means you overplayed it a little,” the musician explained:

“That’s why I want to hit the reset button completely. Collect new ideas, get acquainted with new stories so that I have something to tell again. Otherwise it will be boring.” But his fans need not worry. “The last tour was not my farewell tour,” he promised. He will return: “But something!” (dpa/vit)
