With the recent success of Spider-Man: No Way Homewhich showed the return of Maguire and Andrew Garfield Like Peter Parker, Marvel fans have been calling for the return of canceled sequels, especially Raimi’s Spider-Man 4.

With Spider-Verse’s popularity on the rise, Sony has every door open to revisiting any of its live-action Spider-Man universes.

In a recent interview with the CBRSam Raimi, the director behind the beloved Spider-Man trilogy, spoke about the possibility of working on Spider-Man 4 with Tobey Maguire.

He stated that he was unaware of any plans to resurrect Maguire’s Spider-Man. However, he expressed his admiration for Maguire’s return in Spider-Man: No Way Home.

I haven’t heard about it yet. I read about it, but actually, I’m not working on it yet. Marvel and Columbia have been so successful with their current Spider-Man that I don’t know if they’ll come back to me and say, ‘We could tell that story too!’ I am not sure. But I love all the new Spider-Man movies. I loved Spider-Man: No Way Home“.

It was really powerful to see Tobey in it again. I haven’t talked to Tobey about it, but maybe Marvel has, or Columbia Pictures. But, I just worked with Marvel on a movie called Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. So I’m on great terms with them. I’m sure I’d hear about it if it was in the works. I think so. I don’t know”.

So while fans may be excited to see Maguire swinging the webs again under Raimi’s direction, it looks like they’ll have to wait a little longer for any official confirmation.
