Probably one of the worst messages a young woman can receive: “You’ll never be able to have children naturally!” Youtuber and influencer Ana Johnson had to deal with this diagnosis. His wife, Tim, 29, has been trying to have a child for five years.
Unfulfilled desire to have children
In her latest YouTube video, the young woman finally breaks her silence and speaks openly with her community about her desire to have children and endometriosis. She looks at the camera with some shyness and plots her ordeal. She speaks openly about the beginning of her desire to have children, the marathon of doctors and treatments, and the final diagnosis. Endometriosis is one of the most common abdominal diseases in women. It is caused by tissue resembling the lining of the uterus growing outside the uterus. Until now, endometriosis has not been completely cured.
With her video, Johnson wants to break the taboo on infertility and encourage women with the same diagnosis. Influencer and his wife Tim have decided that they want to have children after their wedding in 2018. Two years later the couple went to the doctor, they felt something was wrong. The young woman describes her years of treatment marathon, her weekly visits to her gynecologist, and the tremendous external pressure she felt. “At first I didn’t want to tell my friends and family. I always had to find excuses for going to the doctor.”
Treatment marathon and diagnosis
When the doctor found nothing, he encouraged the young woman not to lose hope. He eventually referred Johnson to a specialist for hysteroscopy. The operation sobered the couple. When the Youtuber woke up from anesthesia, the doctor confronted him with the diagnosis: “You have very severe endometriosis, blocked fallopian tubes on both sides. You are infertile and will never be able to have children naturally.”
