A great war is approaching

The episode begins exactly where the first season ended, with Loki reuniting with Mobius (Owen Wilson), but he doesn’t recognize him, so the God of Mischief begins his escape inside the AVT.

As they try to escape, Loki begins to teleport between the past and present and realizes that time is behaving erratically within the AVT.

Realizing the severity of the alternate timelines, Mobius and the B-15 Huntress (Wunmi Mosaku) meet with their superiors to discuss what they should do, and B-15 believes that the AVT is the problem and should stop doing time pruning.

Eventually, Loki manages to communicate with Mobius and reveals that a war is approaching, as multiple versions of He Who Remains are emerging. The version of He Who Remains that Sylvie killed was the one that stopped the multiversal war.

Time slip correction

To understand why Loki travels between the past and present uncontrollably, Mobius brings the god of mischief to the TVA’s Repair and Advancement Department.

On site, Mobius presents Ouroboros (Ke Huy Quan), nicknamed OB, responsible for fixing everything at AVT.

OB explains that Loki is suffering from time slippage and reveals a solution, although it is extremely dangerous and could result in the deaths of Loki and Mobius.

They need an aura extractor which must be used on the Time Rift, so Loki must prune himself so he can be brought back to the present.

Unfortunately, OB realizes that the Time Rift is overloaded and could cause the end of the AVT due to the large number of timelines appearing at once in an uncontrolled manner.

They must quickly save Loki from the time slip to avoid bigger problems. Meanwhile, Mobius faces dangers to gain the temporal energy needed to synchronize and save his friend.

Teleported once again into the future, Loki finds Sylvie, who is also in trouble. However, the synchronization works and Loki, returning to the present, tells Mobius that they must find Sylvie.

Meanwhile, General Dox (Kate Dickie) is preparing an army to capture Sylvie, but an agent becomes suspicious of the situation and questions everything.
