Black Mirror will have another season on Netflix

The acclaimed science fiction series Black mirror will return for season seven onwards Netflix.

The series entered the Top 10 in 92 countries and remained in Netflix’s Global Top 10 for 4 weeks.

According to Varietythe production of the seventh season of Black mirror will begin later this year, with the return of executive producers Charlie Brooker, Annabel Jones and Jessica Rhodes.

Details about the plot, the number of episodes and who will be part of the cast have not yet been released.

The sixth season caused controversy

Season six featured several celebrity appearances, including Salma Hayek, Annie Murphy, Aaron Paul, Josh Hartnett, and Paapa Essiedu.

In the fifth season, Andrew Scott, Anthony Mackie, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Topher Grace and Miley Cyrus were the chosen protagonists.

The rights to the series are complicated, which contributed to the delay between seasons 5 and 6.

Charlie Brooker and Annabel Jones left their former production company, House of Tomorrow, and created a new production company called Broke and Bones, which struck a deal with Netflix.

However, the rights to Black Mirror remained with Endemol Shine, which was acquired by Banijay Group. The series is licensed by Banijay Rights to Netflix.

Black Mirror is known for its dark “predictions” about the future. Although the sixth season explored more of the use of artificial intelligence, some episodes had more of a horror movie feel, which displeased some fans.

Charlie Brooker expressed concern about Intelligence and stated that this is one of the reasons he continues to write the series.

I worry about life – that’s generally what I do – and I’m very worried about artificial intelligence and the use of ChatGPT and things like that. This is a particular concern for me, that’s why I’m here“.
