With the wait for the second season of Andorthere is a lot of speculation about which actors in the film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story should still appear in the series.
Although so far little is known about the story and who will be part of it, Ben Mendelsohn assured that there is not Andor. The actor played director Orson Krennic Rogue Onewho led the development of the Death Star.
“As far as being contacted by Lucasfilm about a new project, I can tell you that no, I have not been contacted about anything like that. And yes, it would be nice to see it again somewhere, but that’s where it ends for nowi,” Mendelsohn explained in an interview (via comic books).
“But for me, I would be very willing to explore it further and meaningfully in that world. I never expected to play a character like that, but I never expected to become an actor either. For me they are wonderful things“, added the actor.
“I think Krennic has a lot to offer the audience. What we need to understand about a character like Krennic is that if he had the chance he would try to take over the entire game and it seems to me that this aspect has not yet been explored enough“, he concluded.
Krennic’s participation in the construction of the Death Star
Orson Krennic was the one who forced Galen Erso and other scientists to develop the planet-killing weapon. However, Krennic was killed during the Battle of Scarif, where the rebels obtained information about the Death Star.
Being Andor a prequel series to Rogue Oneit would be an opportunity to further explore Mendelsohn’s character and how his story intersects with many other Star Wars characters.
The second season of Andor will continue Cassian Andor’s investigation into the construction of the Death Star. And this story will bring the plot to the event days of the film. Rogue One.
A Lucasfilm has not yet announced the release date for Andor season 2. The first is available on Disney+.
