Previously, the start was postponed several times to try to clear the track from the snow that had fallen overnight. However, the efforts ultimately proved futile.

The ski aces are now hoping for better weather so the second run can take place on Saturday and the super-G on Sunday.

Of the first five men’s races of the season, only one has been counted so far. The opening giant slalom in Sölden was canceled due to strong wind gusts, and two planned descents on the Matterhorn could not even begin due to fresh snow and storms. Only the slalom in Gurgle has so far gone according to plan.
