Austria sets its sights on Hamburg for the 2024 European Championship draw

The Austrian national football team looks ahead to Hamburg on Saturday (18:00/live on Servus TV) when the six groups for EURO 2024 (14 June – 14 July) will be drawn at the Elbphilharmonie. Austria is withdrawing from the second pot, meaning it expects at least one large-caliber gun from the first pot. The candidates are host countries Germany, France, Belgium, Spain, Portugal and England.

From the third and fourth pots you can get so-called easier opponents, such as the winner of the play-off played in March 2024. However, the Dutch and Croatians are threatened in the third pot, and the defending champions Italy or Switzerland are threatened in the fourth pot. A duel cannot be played with the teams of Hungary, Turkey, Albania, Romania and Denmark in the second pot.
