The second division football team unexpectedly parted ways with promotion coach Dirk Schuster on Thursday. For the away match against Magdeburg this Saturday (20:30), the team will be looked after by the existing coaching team of Oliver Schäfer, Niklas Martin, Andreas Klaus and team manager Florian Dick. Although FCK managing director Thomas Hengen had already met with the former Germany international before he split with Schuster. Klose Sport1 stated that a possible engagement will not take place. Michael Wimmer, currently coaching Austria Vienna, has also reportedly been ruled out.

Former Schalke player Grammozis on the list

Klose coached Austrian first division club SCR Altach until March this year. Since then, the 2014 world champion has been without a club, the former goalscorer working, among other things, as a Champions League expert at Amazon Prime Video. Klose made his Bundesliga debut with FCK before moving to Werder Bremen in 2004. Possible candidate for coaching job now Dimitrios Grammosis, who played in Kaiserslautern for five years. According to Sky, FCK managing director Thomas Hengen has held talks with the 45-year-old former Darmstadt 98 and Schalke 04 coach. Hengen and Grammosis played together for Kaiserslautern from 2001 to 2004.
