Unfortunately, the highly anticipated Vorarlberg derby in the Bundesliga had to be canceled on Sunday due to heavy snowfall since Friday evening.
The wetness and weight of the snow do not allow the area to be evacuated in a short time, as it will cause serious damage to the area. Following the election held on Saturday afternoon, it was decided to postpone the match in coordination with the Bundesliga.
The new game date will be announced as soon as possible.

Live score of Altach-Austria Lustenau match
ATM SCR Altach – SC Austria Lustenau It is cancelled. A new date has not yet been determined.
Cashpoint Arena, 14:30, SR Christopher Jäger (S). Previous season result: 3:0 (a)
The match planned to be held tomorrow between CASHPOINT SCR Altach and SC Austria Lustenau cannot be held due to the amount of snow and the unplayability of the field. There is no improvement in sight given the weather, so in the interest of the best possible planning security the game has been cancelled.
Missing: Fridrikas (muscle injury), Maak (after back surgery), Devisate (cruciate ligament tear), Surdanovic (knee injury), Diallo (suspension)
If the game could be realized as planned, this would be a preview. There are exactly 100 days between SCR Altach’s derby victory in Lustenau at the end of August and the rematch to be played next Sunday. In the penultimate Bundesliga duel of the 2023 calendar year, the question is once again: black-white against green-white.
The rush for hugely popular derby tickets was big once again, with all 8,500 tickets sold out on the second day after public pre-sales began. All lucky derby ticket holders can look forward to a contrasting schedule of freezing temperatures outside and a fierce derby clash on the pitch.
More than prestige
But the state of the table means there is much more to Sunday than the prestige of a derby victory. The pressure is now on Austria, who have just three points in the Bundesliga after the last 15 rounds and are currently five points behind penultimate WSG Tirol. However, SCRA’s belief is to take strength from the derby for the next tasks in the Bundesliga and to do everything to win the derby to ensure a comeback.
What is new is that Markus Mader will not be with his opponent for the first time since their re-promotion in the summer of 2022. The Bregenz player had to give up his seat before the international break after a 2:3 home defeat against WAC, the eleventh of the season. Sports director Alexander Schneider and amateur coach Mohammed Gerdi will take care of the team until the winter break and therefore on Sunday. In their first match last weekend, the team lost 2-0 against Sturm Graz.
Everyone is on duty
Joachim Standfest has been back on the field since this morning. The SCRA head coach has recovered from the flu and is preparing his team for Sunday’s duel. The entire squad, apart from Manuel Prietl, who is recovering, is now in place and ready to put everything on the line on Sunday to win the second derby of the season.
In the first match, SCR Altach won for the first time (3-0 A) and kept a clean sheet for the first time (D1 3L) in the fifth duel against SC Austria Lustenau in the Bundesliga. However, SC Austria Lustenau remained unbeaten in three away matches against Vorarlberg clubs (W1 D2) and lost their first away match in Vorarlberg in October 1999, 0-2 against Schwarz-Weiss Bregenz.
SC Austria Lustenau got each of their three points in the Bundesliga season in away games (D3). Lustenau remained unbeaten in their two BL away matches against SCR Altach in the last BL season (W1 D1).
SCR Altach (5 out of 10) scored half of the goals from set pieces (like SK Sturm) – no team has such a high rate in the Bundesliga season. Two of Altach’s three goals in the first leg came from set pieces (corner and free kick).
This season, SCR Altach was the team with the most strikes in the Bundesliga with 237 crosses and shared the highest crosses with a cross accuracy rate of 25% (like FC Salzburg).
Altach’s Atdhe Nuhiu led the Bundesliga with the most duels (305) and aerial duels (191) this season, while also becoming the player with the most wins (145 and 104).
