Saturday’s race at Beaver Creek was canceled due to high winds. Due to weather reasons, Friday’s race in the US state of Colorado could not take place after the descent of the Matterhorn had already fallen victim to bad weather.
This means that all four currently scheduled outings for the season have been cancelled. Another super-G is scheduled for Sunday in Beaver Creek.
Only one of the canceled races from Zermatt to Cervinia currently has a rescheduled date. Val Gardena will take over on December 14th. As last year, the Italian winter sports resort will host three races over three days. The replacement race is followed by the super-G and downhill. Organizers in South Tyrol announced that mandatory snow control had been passed and nothing would interfere with the competition.
