Gritsch eighth – Brignone ahead at RTL halftime in Canada

Franziska Gritsch sits in eighth place at the halfway point of the first Women’s Ski World Cup giant slalom in Mont-Tremblant.

The Tyrolean is 1.39 seconds behind Italy’s Federica Brignone, 0.11 seconds ahead of Sara Hector (Sweden) and 0.35 seconds ahead of two-time season winner Lara Gut-Behrami of Switzerland.

The start of the race was delayed by half an hour due to fog halfway through the track.

In the top 15, Katharina Liensberger was 2.29 seconds behind, followed by Stephanie Brunner with 2.65, Julia Scheib with 2.77, Ricarda Haaser with 2.81 and Elisabeth Kappaurer with 2.93 seconds. The second round is scheduled for 20.15 (live ORF 1).
