On Thursday at around 5:15 p.m., a 38-year-old Romanian citizen stole 35 high-priced perfumes from various brands from a drugstore in the Klagenfurt district by storing them in a cooler he had brought with him. However, when leaving the store, he triggered the anti-theft device in the entrance area, so that the saleswoman noticed him.

The man then fled the store. The saleswoman pursued the man and met the police patrol located nearby. After describing the facts, the officials took up the pursuit of the fugitive and were able to catch up with him quickly.

When the 38-year-old saw the police officers, he threw away the bag with the perfumes and tried to flee without them. He was caught up and arrested shortly afterwards. The value of the stolen perfumes is around 2700 euros, the bottles were returned to the drugstore.

In the course of further investigations against the 38-year-old Romanian, six more perfume thefts in Carinthia, Tyrol and Salzburg in the period from May 17th to 23rd were proven. The total damage from the acts currently amounts to more than 17,000 euros. The 38-year-old was taken to the Klagenfurt prison. Further surveys will follow.
