After the victory parade following the Kansas City Chiefs’ fourth Super Bowl title, one person was fatally injured by gunfire and three others were said to be in mortal danger.

A fire brigade spokesman announced this on Wednesday (local time). Two gunmen were arrested after the incident in Kansas City, Missouri, according to police. The NFL team around star quarterback Patrick Mahomes was loudly applauded by thousands of fans.

Players and coaches traveled along the 3.22-kilometer course by red double-decker bus. There were many children among the fans as many schools were closed for the day. The incident took place just after the end of the parade in the parking lot of a train station. Authorities asked citizens to leave the area quickly.

It was initially unclear whether the crime was linked to the victory march. Police said at least 10 people, including children, were injured.
