A 14-year-old Czech skied down the Wulfenia run in the snow park at Nassfeld on Wednesday around 1:10 p.m. As he jumped over a kicker, he lost his balance and fell. A ski broke upon impact and the binding came loose.

Nearby, a four-year-old was taking a short break with her father – also Czech – at the edge of the piste. The girl was hit in the back by the broken binding and the 14-year-old’s ski and was injured to an unspecified degree. She was rescued by the piste rescue team and taken to the ARA 3 emergency medical helicopter. After initial treatment on site, the girl was flown to the ELKI in the Klagenfurt Clinic.
