Around midday on Monday, a 52-year-old man from the Spittal district was driving a sweeper truck that weighed around ten tons. At the same time, an 83-year-old woman from the same district was driving her car in the same area, resulting in a collision. The driver of the sweeper drove onto a federal highway with the orange rotating and flashing lights on and crashed his front area into the right side of the 83-year-old’s passing car.

Due to the force of the impact, the front of the 83-year-old’s car was thrown into an adjacent arcade area against sculptures and decorative items from a shop located there, causing damage of a currently unknown amount. The woman was taken by the rescue team to the Spittal/Drau hospital with injuries of an indeterminate degree, where she was treated as an outpatient. The 52-year-old remained uninjured. Significant material damage occurred on both vehicles.
