France’s first lady reveals how she fell in love with Emmanuel Macron when he was 15 and she was 40

Brigitte Macron is 25 years older than her husband, the French president. In a recent interview, he revealed how they allegedly fell in love and the impact their controversial relationship had in 1990.

How Brigette and Emmanuel Macron fell in love

Auzière was Brigitte’s last name at the time (1990), when she was 40 years old, married and had three children. She taught at the elite Jesuit Providence school in Amiens, northern France, and taught theater to Emmanuel Macron.

His daughter Laurence was a classmate of the man who would become president of France a few years later.

Emmanuel was 15 – the age of consent in France – and had fallen in love with his teacher. But his parents were fiercely opposed to this relationship, They therefore change schools and send him to Paris to continue his studies.
