Poland offers to deploy German air defense systems on its border with Ukraine

“After new Russian missile attacks, I turned to Germany to transfer the Patriot batteries offered to Poland to Ukraine and deploy them on the western border,” Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak explained via a message on the social network Twitter.

Mariusz Blaszczak, Polish Minister of Defense offered Berlin to deploy German air defense systems on the western border of Ukraine following the recent series of Russian missile attacks.

“After further Russian missile attacks, I turned to Germany to transfer the Patriot batteries offered to Poland to Ukraine and deploy them on the western border”, explained the Polish minister through a message on his profile on the social network Twitter.

Blaszczak added that this measure “will protect Ukraine from further power losses and blackouts, while it will increase the security of its eastern border, referring to the territorial border between Poland and Ukraine.

The Polish Ministry of Defense requested the transfer of defensive armament to Ukrainian territory, after Germany offered this material after a missile hit last week in Prezwodow near the border with Ukraine, in which two civilians died, collects the DPA agency.

Western powers have pointed out that it could be a Ukrainian anti-aircraft missile used for their defense, while Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelensky maintains that it was a Russian missile, although he does not cannot explain with absolute certainty what happened during the incident.
