Prince William meets Biden in Boston to discuss climate change

For the heir to the British crown and his wife Catherine, it was their first overseas trip since assuming the titles of Prince and Princess of Wales following the death of Queen Elizabeth in September. Guillermo and the US president discussed “shared climate goals” and “prioritizing mental health issues”, according to a White House spokeswoman.

Prince William met US President Joe Biden on the Boston waterfront on Friday, as part of a three-day visit by the British royal family which seeks to draw attention to efforts to address environmental issues.

William and his wife, Catherine, tried to keep the focus on the weather and other causes on their first overseas trip since assuming the titles of Prince and Princess of Wales following the death of Queen Elizabeth in September.

However, as part of its visit to the United States, Netflix Inc has released a trailer for an upcoming documentary series about Guillermo’s younger brother, Enrique, and his American wife, Meghan, relive conversations about family breakdowns.

Buckingham Palace is also grappling with a new controversy related to racism.

On Friday afternoon, Guillermo smiled as he met Biden outside in chilly weather on Boston’s waterfront. The pair took a brief stroll before a private meeting at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum.

The couple were to discuss the “shared climate goals” and “prioritization of mental health issues” White House spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters ahead of the meeting.

Later Friday, Guillermo and Catalina were to honor recipients of the Earthshot Award, an award that Guillermo created to reward people who fight against the effects of climate change. Grammy-winning singer Billie Eilish and others were scheduled to perform at the star-studded ceremony.

“We want to show what we can all do to help put the world on the path to a stable climate, where communities, nature and oceans thrive in harmony” Guillermo said in an opinion piece published in The Huffington Post.

Catalina and Guillermo previously visited the United States in 2014, when they were invited by then-President Barack Obama to the White House.

Their current trip took place just days before Harry and Meghan were to be honored at an awards ceremony in New York.
