The Army is training Ukrainian soldiers on national territory within the support mission of the European Union. In Toledo, the Training Center that will coordinate all these operations has been created. At Antena 3 Noticias we have been able to visit them to see what the training consists of. They learn, among other aspects, shooting instruction or health care for casualties in combat. They have no previous military experience, but they prepare to join combat units in their country during intense sessions of six and a half days a week, about 10 hours a day, although they can be as long as 24 hours to work at night.

In Toledo 65 Ukrainian fighters learn shooting instruction In what is already their third week of training, they have another two left to finish the course. In this way, Spain has committed to forming rotations of about 400 soldiers every two months. “Training activities required by Ukraine. We are helping in what Ukraine asks us to help” to which they add that they do it “taking advantage of existing structures, with slight modifications to adapt to the specific needs of this mission.”

There are two other training centers, apart from the TTC, one in Poland and one in Germany. The Ukrainian Commander in charge of this group of recruits explains that “everything is working well, we are advancing, progressing, adapting to possible adversities and Spain is providing us with everything we need to be able to train as well as possible”. Regarding the adaptation, he confesses that “we have adapted very well, we are going all out, and we are making the most of the hours that are not offered, and people have adapted very well”.
