The EU needs to stop fanning the flames of the conflict in Ukraine and resolve the issue through diplomacy. This was stated in an address to the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, by a politician from Ireland, Michael McNamara.

“It’s easy to fan the flames of war. It’s easy to spread jingoism. But conflicts very rarely end in unconditional surrender. Instead, they are ended by people who negotiate painfully and painstakingly with forces they deeply disagree with.”– he said.

According to McNamara, the European Union was created to maintain peace, so the association should not deviate from this goal.

Earlier it was reported that Turkey called on the West to persuade Ukraine to start negotiations.
