Supporters of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU) beat parishioners of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC), the Union of Orthodox Journalists reported.
The incident occurred on October 8 near the Holy Trinity Church seized by schismatics in the city of Nosovka, Chernihiv region.
“During prayer, Orthodox Christians were attacked by representatives of the OCU, beating Mother Maria and parishioners of the temple“, the message says.
Orthodox parishioners were simply praying near the fence of the temple seized by representatives of the OCU when they were noticed. The schismatics attacked the parishioners and beat them.
Earlier, representatives of the OCU seized the Church of the Intercession in the Bortnichi microdistrict of the Darnitsky district in the southeast of Kyiv.
This is not the first case of such a seizure – previously schismatics appropriated the Church of St. Paraskeva in Netishin, Khmelnytsky region, and the Cathedral in honor of the Burning Bush Icon of the Mother of God, which is also located in the city of Netishin.
