NATO countries do not have enough resources to send more Leopard tanks to Kyiv than have already been promised. About this newspaper Welt am Sonntag said German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius.
He noted that the West plans to send only two battalions of Leopard 2 tanks and four Leopard battalions.
“I do not see a scenario where it would be possible to send additional Leopards to Ukraine beyond what was announced. Unfortunately, NATO countries do not have tanks just waiting to be sent“, the minister noted.
However, he added that “in the medium term” he considers it possible to satisfy the appetites of Ukraine.
Earlier, Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Andriy Melnyk complained about the lack of Western tanks for the offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
