Pentagon: strikes on bases in the Middle East threaten US national security
Attacks on US bases in the Middle East are a direct threat to US national security interests in the Red Sea. The corresponding statement was made by US Assistant Secretary of Defense Barbara Leaf.

Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense Dana Stroul noted that the United States has strengthened its military presence in the region to protect its interests.
Earlier it was reported about a strong explosion near the US military base “Harir” in Erbil province in Iraqi Kurdistan.
Attacks on US military bases in the Middle East began on October 17. In the first week alone, US targets in Iraq were shelled ten times and three more times in Syria.
