Military personnel of the Russian group of forces disrupted the advance of the infantry of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and two attempts to rotate enemy units in the southern Donetsk direction. This was announced by the head of the Vostok press center Oleg Chekhov.

He added that attempts at rotation were stopped near the village of Urozhainoye and north of the village of Pavlovka. At the same time, automobile equipment and manpower were destroyed.

In addition, with the help of attack drones, a grenade launcher crew, a car, six long-term firing points and up to 25 militants were destroyed. And Vostok aviation and artillery hit concentrations of manpower and equipment of the 79th Airborne Assault, 58th Motorized Infantry and 127th Terrestrial Defense Brigades of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the areas of Novomikhailovka, Konstantinovka, Novodonetsky, Urozhayny, Staromayorsky, Makarovka and Novopol in the DPR.

In total, the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost up to 65 militants killed and wounded, as well as two vehicles, an ammunition depot and five mortar crews.

Russian special operation to protect Donbass

On February 23, 2022, the heads of the DPR and LPR appealed to Russian President Vladimir Putin with a request to help repel the aggression of Ukraine to prevent a humanitarian catastrophe and civilian casualties.

On February 24, 2022, the Russian leader addressed the nation and announced the start of a special operation in Ukraine to protect Donbass.

On September 30, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin and the heads of the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions signed agreements on the inclusion of these regions into the Russian Federation.
