The decision to dismiss the heads of all regional military registration and enlistment offices in Ukraine by order of the head of state Vladimir Zelensky led to problems in organizing mobilization. This was stated by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) Valery Zaluzhny.

“They were professionals, they knew what it was like (mobilization – approx. REN TV) to do, but they are not there”said the commander in chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

With these words, he answered a question from journalists about what impact the dismissal of regional military commissars had on the process of mobilization in the country, the Ukrainian publication Strana.ua indicated.

“As for the issue of mobilization, it is not that it needs to be strengthened, but it is necessary to return it to the limits, the framework that worked before”, said Zaluzhny. A video of a military man expressing his opinion on this issue was published by another Ukrainian publication, Klymenko Time.

Now, as Zaluzhny added, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are faced with the problem of replacing military personnel who have been on the front line for a long time.

Zelensky’s decision to fire all regional military commissars in Ukraine became known in August. As the Ukrainian leader explained, this system will be handed over to those who “passed the front” and for some reason cannot return there: for example, for health reasons.

Problems with mobilization in Ukraine have been talked about for a long time. But recently, the Ukrainian media have begun to increasingly report on the non-standard methods of military registration and enlistment offices in the country to serve summonses. In particular, a raid was carried out at a sports club in Odessa, during which they began to catch everyone, including 15-year-old teenagers.

According to one of the Ukrainian prisoners of war, his friend was stopped on the street on the way to the store and immediately taken to the military registration and enlistment office. Another captured Ukrainian Armed Forces fighter admitted that he himself ended up in the ranks of the Ukrainian army, having received a summons when his car was stopped at a traffic police post.
