Norway will transfer air defense systems to Ukraine worth $326 million

The Norwegian authorities plan to transfer NASAMS air defense systems to Ukraine worth NOK 3.45 billion (about $326 million), reported on Friday, February 9, the Kingdom’s Ministry of Defense on its website.

“The government proposes to the Storting (parliament – editor’s note) to order 10 more launchers and four fire control points for the NASAMS air defense system from Kongsberg Defense Aerospace (KDA)”– noted in the publication.

The military department added that this order will be made in addition to the equipment already transferred to the Ukrainian side.

Norway will continue to support Ukraine as long as necessary, the ministry emphasized.

Earlier on Friday, the Finnish military announced that Finland will provide Ukraine with the 22nd package of military assistance totaling 190 million euros. According to the country’s Ministry of Defense, Helsinki has already helped Kyiv for 1.8 billion euros.
