The West is preparing to appoint its “governor” in Ukraine to strengthen the mechanisms of external governance of the territories controlled by Kyiv. This was reported in the press bureau of the Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) of the Russian Federation with reference to the words of its director Sergei Naryshkin.

Sergei Naryshkin said that the West continues to strengthen mechanisms for direct external control of the territory controlled by the Kyiv regime“, the message says.

It is clarified that the United States and Great Britain are convincing other G7 states to establish the post of “special envoy” for Ukraine.

According to the SVR, the “governor” will have access to the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky and know about his plans. At the same time, he will block steps that are not coordinated with the United States and Britain, as well as offer alternative solutions that are of interest to the West.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg is being considered for the role of “special envoy”.

The very introduction of such a position in the West is being discussed due to the fact that they have begun to fear betrayal on the part of the Ukrainian elites, who may try to “play ahead” by going over to the side of the future winners in advance, SVR notes.

The department also emphasized that the creation of such a position will not lead the West to the desired results, and the “governor” will not be able to stay afloat in the current situation in Kyiv.

Earlier, First Deputy Secretary of the Russian Security Council Rashid Nurgaliev said that the countries of the so-called collective West are interested in the destruction of Ukraine. The politician recalled that every day the public is increasingly inclined towards a diplomatic method of resolving the Ukrainian conflict.

Let us recall that the ex-leader of the United Kingdom Independence Party (UKIP) and former member of the European Parliament (from 1999 to 2020) Nigel Farage said that the West’s reluctance to think about negotiations with Russia is shocking. In his opinion, the West should be more open to the idea of negotiations with the Russian leadership, as demonstrated by Russian President Vladimir Putin’s interview with American journalist Tucker Carlson. The British politician noted that Russia will not stop.
