Jenz wrote that the man approached her with a beer in his hand and an angry face as she breastfed her son in a nearly deserted room in the family area of An der Alten Försterei stadium during the first half on Saturday. The man reportedly asked her to leave the room. The staff did not understand the situation. As she was talking to the security company employee, he walked up to the older man and within five seconds they were both laughing.

“Unfortunately, we live in a society that not only does not condemn such ignorant people, but also defends them and has the courage to laugh at them,” wrote Steffani Jenz.

Union Berlin apologized to Steffani Jenz

“We saw Ms. Jentz’s post and immediately apologized to her via social media and thanked her for bringing the issue to light,” a union labor representative said. “It goes without saying that mothers can breastfeed their babies without worry. We also require this of our stadium guests and employees.” The Club will work through the incident with staff and inform them of how to respond appropriately if someone feels harassed at one of its events.
