The Pentagon has signed a $3.4 billion contract with Boeing to supply P-8A Poseidon maritime patrol aircraft to Germany and Canada.

The contract involves the supply of 14 patrol aircraft to Canada and three to Germany, TASS reports.

In addition, the contract price includes engineering work.

Earlier, ex-adviser to the head of the Pentagon Douglas McGregor harshly criticized American military equipment.

According to him, the new combat vehicles of the US ground forces are old technologies in a new wrapper, which are designed to look revolutionary. In fact, they lag behind the advanced weapons of Russia and China.

Last year, the M10 Booker infantry fighting vehicle and XM30 infantry fighting vehicle, which are intended to replace the M2 Bradley, were introduced in the States.
