Three Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) soldiers were killed and 14 others were wounded during combat operations against militants of the Palestinian Hamas movement in the southern Gaza Strip, the army press service said.

It is noted that two 19-year-old and one 20-year-old sergeants who were undergoing training for infantry commanders in the 450th battalion of the Bislamach brigade were killed.

Since the start of the Israeli military’s ground operation in the enclave, 245 soldiers have been killed. The total number of IDF military deaths as the conflict in the Middle East escalates has reached 585.

On February 28, Deputy Speaker of the Israeli Parliament Yevgeny Sova said that Israel had already spent about $65 billion on the war in the Gaza Strip. According to him, the main burden on the country’s budget was mobilization.
