Russia calls NATO maneuvers in the Arctic “provocative” and warns of possible “military incidents”

In this sense, he declared that ““Any exercise, particularly in geographic proximity to the line of contact, increases the risk of military incidents.” and assured that “all necessary measures will be taken to ensure that Russia’s defense capability is guaranteed.” He thus regretted that these actions “only contribute to a reduction in European security and create additional risks” on the international scene.

The maneuvers, which began on Sunday, will last until March 14. and will take place on the territories of Norway, Finland and Sweden, with the participation of 13 Alliance countries and 20,000 troops. The objective is to test the Alliance’s ability to defend the northernmost area of ​​the bloc.
